An intimate devotion from missions leader, trustee, and children’s ministry leader at FBC Buffalo, Angie Rash.
Oswald Chambers said, “God breaks up the private life of His saints, and makes it a thoroughfare for the world on one hand and for Himself on the other. We are not sanctified for ourselves, we are called into the fellowship of the Gospel, and things happen which have nothing to do with us. God is getting us into fellowship with Himself.”
Most days my life feels like a major interstate runs directly through the middle of it, making it extremely hard to navigate at times. It’s busy, loud, chaotic and exhausting. But if I keep my eyes on Jesus, rest in Him, and remember it’s not about me but it’s about glorifying Him; He shows me people and situations that are opportunities to share the gospel. Opportunities to love God sacrificially and love others like I love myself. Opportunities to grow closer to Him.
Lord, teach me to listen. The times are noisy and my ears are weary with the thousand raucous sounds which continuously assault them. Give me the spirit of the boy Samuel when he said to You, “Speak, for Your servant hears.” Let me hear You speaking in my heart. Let me get used to the sound of Your voice, that it may be familiar when the sounds of earth die away as I concentrate on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
